I so love this. Um can I ask for one more thing please. Customizable Slot categories. I know I ask for so much. For my bigger Retreats (Summits) I have a main Talk, Speaker Q&A live, Pass Talk, Lunch & Learn, etc etc. 😁
Do you mean the ability to choose a category to associate with the open slots you generate?
A category for the open slot so that speakers can filter by that category. it would need to be customizable by the organizer
Thanks Monique. Just to clarify, would this be a category that would be linked to the talk that is ultimately created and that attendees would see, or are you seeing this as a purely internal category that only speakers would see when choosing the slot? Our preference would be that it would be a publicly published, visible category when the event is live. For example, you might want to split your event across a few categories, such as: - Marketing - Sales - Motivation When you're creating your open slots, you might want to create five slots in each category so that speakers can filter and choose which slot they want to claim. Ultimately, when a slot is claimed and the full talk details are populated, that talk would still be attached to that public-facing category (i.e., Marketing, Sales, or Motivation). Is that how you see that working? If so, let me know and we'll get this rolled out ASAP!
The category could be internal-only or attendee-facing — either option works. I don’t need it for my current event, but it would be extremely helpful for the next summit I’m starting next week. For my larger summits, I usually have 30–60 total open slots across multiple days, and each slot represents a different type of session. Examples include: - Main Talk Slot - Live Q&A Slot - Upgraded Pass Day Live Talk Slot - Lunch & Learn Slot Because each speaker has 2–4 different session types, they need a quick way to filter the open slots by category so they can find the correct slot instantly. So the feature I’m requesting is: A customizable category field on each open slot, plus a filter on the speaker dashboard so they can view only the slot types relevant to them. Whether the category is internal-only or public-facing is flexible — the key is giving speakers a way to filter the list.
Thanks, Monique. This has now been deployed. You can now optionally link an open slot to a category. That category will then be used to help group those open slots for speakers in their dashboard.
Thank you so much once again. 😁
Thanks for suggesting this. We’ve shipped it now: organizers can create scheduled open slots, and speakers can claim available slots from their Speaker Dashboard. You can read more in the changelog here: https://heysummit.userjot.com/updates/p/let-speakers-claim-s…
