Folders for Team Members

It would be great to be able to set up folders to assign team members to in the account back end. We will be adding clients as team members so they can moderate questiosn, check in attendees onsite etc without being set up as “Moderators” as the moderator function is a bit clanky. The folders will allow us to place clients that are set up as team members in our account in their own company folder and easy to indentify who has what access etc. Other use cases could be to assign team members into certain roles that have cewrtain permissions or even set up a folder for a large events that all the team members only looking after that event can be assigned to.

Thanks again for suggesting this, and for the helpful clarification. Team groups are now live, so you can organise team members by client or company without changing their permissions or event access. For more info, take a look at our changelog: https://heysummit.userjot.com/updates/p/organise-team-member…

Hey Luke, Thanks for the feedback. I'm a little bit unsure how this differs from what we already provide. When managing team permissions, you can already decide exactly which events they have access to. This allows you to separate clients to specific events. Can you help me understand what it is you need above and beyond the team permission capabilities that we already provide? Many thanks.

Hi Ben, thanks for your quick response. I understand you can assign events to team members already but what we are trying to achieve is to give our client team member access so its easier for them to moderate Q&A for exampkle as the built in moderator access is not ideal. So if we add them as team members, they arent part of our company but rather part of the events we create for them so if we could create folders in the team member section then the clients from “ACME” we give tream member access to, go into the “ACME” folder. This also would reduce the need to scroll through team members too if we started adding a lot over time and would make it easier to find particular people that have been given team access to. I hope that makes sense?

Thanks - appreciate the reply. Could this be solved by grouping team members by event or providing a way to filter the team list by event?

Hi Ben, we still have our core team memeber that will be assigned to multiple client events so grouping by event wouldnt work i dont think because i i assign one of my techs to a certain event then they are grouped to that event even though they will be needed and many other events. I still think the easiest way is the ability to create folders becasue we would be searching per customer not per event even if we gave ourselevs our own company folder then all our staff would be located in our folder.

That could presumably be solved with a simple event filter. I’m still not getting what extra benefit you get by linking a team member to a ‘folder’. Linking a team member to an event is already doing that, so the question is how can we update the team member list so that you can more easily see members grouped by event.

I guess to simplify my thinking. Let's say I had 50 team members in my account. These team member were from 10 clients so 5 team members per client. I'd rather see 5 folders than 50 individual team members.

Thanks Luke. Appreciate the extra context. We’ll need to give this some extra thought as we don’t currently have plans to create folders in the way you’re describing here. But i’ll continue to keep it in the back of my mind, in case we can find a happy middleground.
