Integrate with throwaway.cloud
Block disposable emails at registration (throwaway.cloud integration)
Add an option in Settings → Registration & Checkout → Email permissions to block sign-ups using disposable/temporary email domains via the free throwaway.cloud API.
Organiser setting (new):
- Label: Block disposable/temporary emails
- Help text: “Prevent registrations with throwaway email services (checked against a maintained list via throwaway.cloud). Can be used alongside ‘Allow business emails only.’”
Technical notes:
Validate on email entry and on submit using throwaway.cloud.
- Send domain only (not full address) to minimize PII.
- Fallback behavior if API is unavailable (allow with warning).
- Log counts in Reporting (e.g., “Disposable emails blocked: 47”).
Why this helps:
- Reduces spam/low-intent signups, improves deliverability and sponsor ROI, and complements the existing ‘Allow business emails only’ control.

Hey Andrew, thanks for sharing this. We actually already do this (albeit not with http://throwaway.cloud) for anyone registering for a HeySummit account, as well as against the speaker and host emails added to the platform. However, we do not currently do this with attendees as we've always felt this should be an opt-in feature. It's nice to see this being requested as it gives us a nudge to make this available at the attendee level as well. What we'll do is add the option in the event settings to turn this feature on (i.e. to piggy back off our existing throwaway detection system). We should be able to work on this later this week.
