Show the name of every attendee

As we primarily organize in-person and hybrid events, it is important to us to know who exactly enters our premises. When someone buys tickets for more than one person, the HeySummit system requires them to enter the name and email address of the other people. This information, however, is not reflected in the Sales Report, which means we don’t know who the other attendees are. The example below shows Liz Wong buying 3 tickets in one transaction. She made one bulk payment of $147 for those three tickets. All three people attended our event in-person. We don’t know who the other two people are. I know the buyer can transfer tickets to someone else, but we don’t see them doing this. We had three people buying more than one ticket and none of them transferred tickets to someone else. I am okay with it if they don’t transfer the tickets. And I also don’t necessarily need those extra email addresses. But I would very much appreciate to receive the names of all the attendees.

Thanks for sharing this, Henk. When names and email addresses are entered for additional tickets during checkout, those tickets should already be transferred and attendee records created, so the people should appear in HeySummit. If you find a case where that does not happen, please send the checkout details to our support team so we can investigate it as a bug. As the underlying functionality is already available, we're closing this request.

Hi Henk, Thanks for sharing your use case and suggesting the feature. This is something that will need to give some more thought to. Typically, we require attendees (if they're purchasing them for other people) to transfer the ticket to them for full ownership, and in doing so, additional attendee records are created. We currently don't have the facility to provide temporary names for tickets without then converting them into full-blown attendees, and so this would break our model a bit and how we like to structure things. For now, I'm going to say it's going to be a soft no, but it'd be curious to keep this in here and see whether we get increased demand for it - in case there's an opportunity to come back to it in the future. Thanks again for sharing though. I will absolutely keep this in mind in case an opportunity opens up in the future.

Hi Ben, I would also much rather have the purchaser transferring the tickets to the people for whom they were bought. Since you ask the purchaser to enter the name and email address of the receivers, what is your reasoning for not doing the transfer automatically at the time of purchase? If there is a good reason to not transfer the tickets automatically at purchase, can we at least have an automated follow up to remind the buyers to do this? For example a pop-up on the time of purchase asking the buyer if they want to transfer the tickets “now”, and if they choose “later”, then send regular reminder emails.

Hey Henk, Thanks for the reply. We actually do transfer tickets automatically at purchase if the buyer enters a name and email for those tickets. If you're seeing any issues with this though, please do reach out to our support team, and any information you can provide will help. We've had one other person mention that they haven't been automatically created, and yet every single time we test it working for us. So we must be missing an edge case somewhere that we haven't been able to discover. If you do have any clues about what is or isn't being done on your end when someone who's buying multiple tickets assigns them to people during the checkout, please do share that with us. In case that provides a clue. TLDR though - If someone purchases multiple tickets during the checkout, they are given the option to transfer those during that checkout session. And if they enter names and emails, that should then automatically transfer those tickets and create attendee records during that checkout flow.
