Talk/Speakers giveaways turnaround time

We’ve been using HeySummit for our annual online conference for 6 years, and one pain point that hasn’t changed is this: Having the talk/speaker giveaways not announced for 24 hours drains the energy from that initiative. It’s anticlimactic to have winner announcements just pop up in email a full day after the talk. This year we were excited to see that we could have all the winners revealed at a date and time of our choosing, so we chose to have them revealed right at the beginning of our closing session/party. Yet there weren’t — they still just rolled out 24 hours after each talk, with attendees and speakers still getting emails, and leaving us with only a partial list of winners to announce at the time that we had told the conference that we would be announcing the list. To that end, a few suggestions: - Please, please, please work on a way for winners to be chosen faster. The ideal would be to announce it right at the end, before releasing the audience, so it can be celebrated live. - Please review what’s going on with the setting that allows us to choose a date and time for the announcement, because it didn’t appear to change how that was handled on the back end. - While you work on a faster notification, please adjust the language of that setting to make it clear that changing the date of announcements won’t expedite the turnaround time.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. You’re right, the 24-hour delay for talk/speaker giveaways can kill momentum, especially when you want to celebrate winners live. We’ve just rolled out some updates to address this: 1. Talk giveaway timing is now configurable at the event level. You can choose to generate winners: - at the end of each talk, - X minutes after each talk ends, or - at a specific event-level date/time. 2. We updated the settings copy so it’s clear which timing controls apply to event-level vs talk-level giveaways. 3. We increased winner-generation processing frequency, so scheduled announcements are picked up much faster (near real-time rather than hourly). Thanks again for calling this out so clearly - it directly helped us improve this flow.
